Yes! You can snorkel at Punta Nizuc’s shallow galleries (~4–6 m deep) and see sculptures from the surface.
But deeper galleries like Manchones (~8–10 m) are much better experienced while scuba diving

No—MUSA welcomes both snorkelers and non-certified divers. Certified divers can dive freely among the deeper galleries, while beginners can join a PADI “Discover Scuba” program that includes pool training and a guided first dive

Scuba diving offers a richer experience—closer views of sculptures, better visibility, and a chance to explore multiple galleries and reef areas. Snorkeling is more limited: you’ll only float above one shallow cluster and visibility depends on sea conditions .

Punta Nizuc (Cancún) – 3–6 m deep, ideal for snorkeling or glass-bottom boats Manchones Gallery (Isla Mujeres) – ~8–10 m depth, best visited via scuba diving; contains most sculptures (400–500 pieces).
